AEMC® Introduces Sentinel® Current Data Loggers

Sentinel ® Current Data Loggers are a new line of loggers that record True RMS measurements of current parameters.  The current loggers include integral flexible current probes for three-phase measurements up to 3000A.

The loggers are small, portable and battery-operated (Alkaline and rechargeable NiMH models available). Current loggers are equipped with the Extended Recording Mode (XRM ™), which allows the operator to record over a long period of time by reducing the stored sample resolution of the oldest data and maintaining matching resolution for the newest data.  This process continues until the recording is manually stopped. The loggers are able to store up to 480,000 points (1MB) and 64 samples per cycle.  Other storage modes include FIFO (First In, First Out) and Stop When Full.

The current loggers are supplied with permanently attached AmpFlex ™ current probes.  Also includes DataView ® software for data storage, analysis and report generation.

Greenlee’s Combination Drill/Tap Bits go metric

Greenlee’s Combination Drill/Tap Bits go metric. The new metric Drill/Tap is a combination drill bit that allows the end-user to drill, tap and countersink a metric hole in one motion, just as Greenlee’s standard Combination Drill/Tap already does. This new product can be used by end-users that need tapped metric holes in material 10 gauge or less. Greenlee is also introducing two new larger standard size Drill/Tap bits (5/16) and (3/8) to meet end-user needs when it comes to heavier metal construction.

The Combination Drill/Tap Bit is made from high-speed steel to ensure longer life. It’s designed to tap up to 10 gauge metal and has a high quality hex shank to ensure a strong connection to the drill chuck. The back taper beyond the tap helps prevent the thread damage from over-drilling. A quick change adaptor is also included in both metric and standard kits. The Combination Drill/Tap Bits are now available packaged individually or kits, in both metric and standard sizes.

Leviton Expands Kiddy Cop TM Line with Child-Resistant Wallplate

Leviton Manufacturing Company, the leader in electrical safety, has expanded its line of Kiddy Cop TM child protective wiring devices and accessories with the addition of an all-new Child-Resistant Wallplate. Available in Ivory and White, the Kiddy Cop Child-Resistant Wallplate is designed for installation in areas where small children have access to unprotected electrical outlets, such as in nurseries, bedrooms and play areas of the home, as well as in hotels, daycare centers, schools, pediatric wards and other locations outside the home that cater to children.

Designed to fit over a standard duplex grounding outlet, the Child-Resistant Wallplate protects unused electrical outlets with a sliding mechanism that permits easy access by adults, but requires a greater level of manual dexterity than small children are apt to have developed. The wallplate’s spring-loaded thermoplastic sliding safety shutter mechanism closes to conceal both outlets, preventing small fingers from coming in contact with the outlet’s electrical conductors. When a plug is inserted in either or both outlets, the shutter mechanism opens to allow the plug to be inserted.

The Child-Resistant Wallplate offers a sleek, compact design that blends with most wall surfaces while performing the important task of helping keep children safe from the dangers of electricity. The device is UL Listed and CSA and NOM Certified. Its wallplate design additionally provides full compliance with UL 514D. Greenlee Rolls Out New CR25 Cable Roller Guide

Greenlee’s new CR25 Cable Roller Guide was developed to help guide and protect network and other cables being installed by network and coax installers or electricians. CR25 Cable Roller Guides can be used to simplify and speed up Cat. 5, 5e, and 6 cable installations and installation of other small diameter cables such as coax, NM, and small THHN.

The CR25’s are placed along the path of the cable installation where a bend occurs and at additional points where the cable needs to be guided. CR25's have a clamp so that they can be attached to cable trays, raceways, studs, joists or anywhere there is a need to run and guide cable. The nylon rollers on the CR25 protect the cables from damage and minimize the force required to pull the cables.

Thomas & Betts Xtraflex ® Type B Conduit in Reels Reduces Waste

In order to reduce waste for larger-quantity applications, Xtraflex ® Type B Conduit from Thomas & Betts is now available on reels in lengths of up to 1,000 feet, in addition to 100-foot lengths packaged by carton.

“If the conduit comes in 100-foot lengths,” Senior Product Manager Craig Yoss said, “what happens if someone needs to cut 80-foot lengths? They end up throwing away 20 feet from each run. The 1,000-foot reel enables the user to cut only the length needed. It also saves space, because one 1,000-foot reel takes up a lot less space than 10 boxes of 100-foot lengths.”

Xtraflex Type B Conduit is a smooth, non-metallic conduit constructed of polyvinylchloride (PVC) and is UL and CSA listed. When used with Thomas & Betts Bullet ® Liquidtight fittings, it is rated NEMA 6P submersible. Sunlight and oil resistant, Xtraflex Type B Conduit is recommended for a variety of industrial applications, including machine tools, motor connections, food processing equipment, wireway extensions and control console wiring. The smooth surface of the inner diameter facilitates wire pulling.

The conduit sizes available are 3/8-inch in gray, packaged in 500-foot reels; 1/2 inch, in gray or black, packaged in 500-foot and 1,000-foot reels; and one inch, in gray or black, packaged in 500-foot reels.

All Xtraflex ® Type B Conduit in reels is marked in one-foot intervals for quick and easy measuring.
