New Hilti Contractor Pro High Speed Diamond Blades

With a faster cutting speed and up to 50 percent longer life than the current Heavy Duty blades, the new Contractor Pro High Speed Diamond Blades extend Hilti's line-up for high speed gas saws. Available in three versions, General Purpose Segmented, General Purpose Turbo and Asphalt Segmented, the Contractor Pro blades are ideal for cutting applications in reinforced concrete, concrete block, clay brick and other masonry materials.

For precise cutting and straighter tracking, the Contractor Pro segmented blades feature a .125” thickness with a stronger core, so they can also be used on low horsepower walk-behind saws. For added quality and durability when cutting concrete or asphalt, the segments are laser welded for a stronger bond. And for a clean cut every time, the turbo version helps prevent chipping when cutting stone, marble or clay brick.

Standard with a 20 millimeter arbor and 1” knockout, the blades can easily adapt to larger saws and, although formulated for dry use, they can also be used wet to reduce dust and noise.

The Contractor Pro Diamond Blades come in user-friendly, multi-language packaging with application details to make getting started easier. For added user ease, the blades come engraved with information and include a laser cut directional arrow.

Firestop Fittings for New and Retrofit Through-Wall Penetrations

FlameStopper™ thru-wall fittings from Wiremold/Legrand have been redesigned for use in retrofit, as well as new construction firestopping applications. These fittings combine built-in intumescent material with a fully enclosed wall penetration that allows wires and cables to be easily added or removed while maintaining the fire rating of the wall.

The FlameStopper thru-wall fitting for new construction consists of a cover with adjustable steel doors that houses intumescent material with an opening through which the cables pass. EMT conduit, which can be cut to length, carries the cables through the penetration to a similar cover and block of intumescent material on the opposite side of the wall. The proper amount of firestopping material is preloaded in the assembly, so there is no need to apply caulk or putty. Because the material is entirely self contained, it is not disturbed by adding or removing cables.

The newly introduced retrofit kit includes a split conduit for installations where there is no existing conduit. It also contains a large firestopped wall plate for irregular openings, and a heat shield for existing extended conduit lengths. This kit makes possible firestopping in virtually any existing condition without additional firestop material.

The FlameStopper thru-wall fitting is tested to UL 1479 and ASTM E814 for flame, temperature, and smoke, and is also determined to be suitable for use in air handling spaces (plenums).

Designed for easy installation in gypsum and concrete block walls, these units work in conjunction with any cable tray.

LENOX® Announces 25 th Anniversary Celebration of HACKMAN®

LENOX celebrates the anniversary of the very first car cutting with tons of events and a huge sweepstakes including the chance to win a one-of-kind, custom designed AMERICAN IRONHORSE® CHOPPER!

LENOX® announces plans for a celebration in honor of the 25th anniversary of HACKMAN® car cuttings. In 1981, Lee Breton performed the very first car cutting for LENOX as the original HACKMAN.

Breton, now 62-years-old, has been an employee of LENOX for 44 years. As a master cutter he has traveled to tool distributors, construction job sites and trade shows worldwide to cut in half buses, trains, houses and most often, cars. HACKMAN's popularity and requests by LENOX users for live appearances grew so much that in 2004 LENOX recruited a team of master cutters to meet the demand. Over the years, HACKMAN, with the help of TEAM HACKMAN has performed more than 500 car cuttings and hopes to double that number in 2006 with an expanded team of 15 cutters located throughout the country. The car cuttings demonstrate the extreme speed and strength of the LENOX Gold™ reciprocating saw blade. Its unique Titanium Nitride coating, coupled with a patented new tooth design, work together to make this new blade the longest lasting reciprocating blade, ever.

"HACKMAN is the representation of all that LENOX stands for," stated Bill Burke, President of LENOX, a Newell Rubbermaid company. "It is the strength, durability and speed of both HACKMAN and LENOX products that have positioned it as a growing power brand in the Industrial and Commercial trades market," noted Burke. "The brand continues to build on our corporate reputation for producing premium quality products that provide exceptional value."

Among the many events planned is a cross country VIP car cutting tour featuring the original HACKMAN, Lee Breton. As part of this exciting celebration, customers can enter to win in the LENOX HACKMAN CHOPPER™ Sweepstakes with a grand prize of a one-of-a-kind AMERICAN IRONHORSER chopper that's been custom designed and built to showcase LENOX products.

But that's not all, the prizes continue with 25 people winning $1,000 and 2,500 winners getting a special 25-pack of LENOX Gold™ reciprocating saw blades. Customers enter to win by filling out an entry form at participating dealers. The contest starts June 1 and will run through December 31, 2006.
