We have had many inquiries from electrical contractors and have used the feedback to develop a training curriculum which is best suited to get them out selling and installing systems as soon as possible.” Our Technical Service Engineers and Regional Sales Managers, in conjuction with business development initiative recently provided a two-day intensive training on solar energy sales, design and installation at the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) facility in Orange County, CA. The dual-track training consisted of a sales and system design track which provided a thorough picture of the solar industry and discussed the critical elements of selling solar and how to structure a profitable business. The installation training track focused on safety, code compliance and more technical design issues. It also included a hands-on segment during which everyone had a chance to handle the equipment and troubleshoot a live system. Graduates of the training learned how to install the safest, most appropriate systems for their customer’s needs as well as the sales process and what to focus on when creating the business plan specific to solar.
