FERRAZ SHAWMUT EXPANDED ROTARY DISCONNECT SWITCH OFFERING SAVES TIME AND MONEY
The pistol handles possess lower profiles and can be used in double door (dead front door) applications. The ergonomic grip allows for easier operation. For NEMA 1, 3R and 12 applications, the pistol handles include a snap-in lock nut feature for front mounting without opening the door.
“The new pistol handles offer greater aesthetics, ergonomics and functionality for quick installations and a consistent look for OEMs and panel builders using our entire switch range,” said Mike Quinlan, Business Development Manager – Switch Products.
The compact UL98 switches serve as the main disconnects for all electrical panels in service entrance rating applications. Users gain valuable real estate within the panel through new gear boxes that allow for direct mounting of auxiliary contacts onto the switches. With no contact holder required, this saves time and money.
The rod flange is used with Ferraz Shawmut side operated switches and flange handles to satisfy NFPA 79 applications. It also suits those who prefer to use flange handles instead of front rotary handles coupled with unique NFPA79 kits. This solution is more cost effective than cable operated options.

P&S DECORATOR ROTARY DIMMERS OFFER POLISHED DESIGN AND SMOOTH, SIMPLE OPERATION
Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S) announces a new spin on the familiar Rotary Dimmer. Designed in P&S Decorator style, the Decorator Series Rotary Dimmers offer a contemporary look and fresh features while keeping the classic operation many homeowners appreciate.
Each Dimmer provides smooth, ergonomic operation with full-range dimming, and dehumming Fan Speed Controls are also available. The LED illuminated knob indicates the lighting level, and a snap-in LED module option makes the Dimmer easy to find in the dark.
Installation is faster and easier, with a slim design that leaves more room in the box. Screw-pressure-plate backwiring also speeds installation and ensures solid, quality electrical connections. Each Dimmer also provides superior heat management and structural strength, with a heavy-gauge black anodized aluminum strap.
“The Decorator Rotary Dimmer offers a sleek new style to match other P&S Decorator devices without compromising the function that’s familiar to most homeowners,” said Mike Piraino, lighting controls market development manager.
The Dimmers come in Incandescent 700- and 1,100-watt versions. Colors include ivory, light almond, white, black and brown.

WHEN EASY OR QUICK AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH HILTI CP 653 SPEED SLEEVE
Life safety and asset preservation are key considerations when choosing a cable management device. Beyond quick penetration and easy installation, the ideal solution must be lightweight, durable and strongly limit smoke migration. A ready-to-use, one-step cable management firestop solution, the Hilti CP 653 Speed Sleeve is that solution.
Ideal for healthcare managers, and telecom and electrical professionals, the CP 653 Speed Sleeve features "spin-on" flanges so it can be installed quickly. For fast cable installation, cables do not need to be inserted in a uniform height to comply with the firestop detail. To save time and create less hassle, the CP 653 is also simple and intuitive to open and close for easy penetration and re-penetration.
Internationally tested and approved, the CP 653's constrictive smoke seal limits smoke migration whether empty or 100 percent visually filled. With robust smoke seal fabric that is tested to 250 open-close cycles, the CP 653 is a lightweight, durable solution that can also withstand long-term, high traffic usage.

RANDL Industries Five Square ® Box Makes Communications and Fire Protection More Reliable and Cost Effective!
Imagine pulling category 6A cable and then realizing it could not be terminated in existing technology boxes. Then imagine having to downgrade to an older cable, only to have to change out both the cable and the boxes within several years to accommodate future high speed transmission rates!
Research indicates that there are multiple bend radius infractions when high speed cables such as Cat 5E and Cat 6 are installed in old technology boxes. Modern data and video technologies, especially the newer 10G Base T cables, require strict adherence to cable manufacturer’s minimum bend radius requirements. Moreover, it is not possible to install the more rigid 10G Base T cables in existing boxes and still maintain minimum bend radii.
RANDL Industries is proud to introduce the World’s First Telecommunications Outlet Box with a self contained cable management system! The RANDL Industries patented 5 Square ® Telecommunications Box with cable management facilitates the minimum bend radius requirements of cable manufacturers assuring that your cable functionality needs of the present and the future are met today. Simply stated, installing the RANDL Industries 5 Square Telecommunications Box with cable management today will save you money and effort as your need for faster transmission rates are realized.
Improving cable and connecting hardware functionality was our top priority in developing the new 5 Square technology. The 5 Square with a depth of 2 ⅞” and a volume up to 81 cubic inches (double that of most boxes) supports categories 5E, 6, Augmented 6, and fiber optic cables. The 5 Square has an array of knockout arrangements with sizes from ¾” to 1 ¼” and plaster rings from flat to 1 ¼” deep to fit all your project needs.
The 5 Square for fire signaling appliances virtually eliminates ground faults and short circuits while allowing many additional conductors and cables to pass through; thereby, reducing conduit and associated labor…which equates to further cost savings.
After thirty years experience in the telecommunications and electrical construction industry, we know you take great pride in your projects. At RANDL Industries we realize the importance of using products that are designed specifically to accommodate the new high speed cabling and connecting products. After all, intelligent cabling deserves the intelligent choice…the 5 Square Telecommunications box!

FERRAZ SHAWMUT A4BQ FUSES OFFER UL-LISTED PRODUCT CHOICES FOR LOWER AMPERE-RATED APPLICATIONS
Ferraz Shawmut introduced its newly UL-listed Amp-Trap 2000 ® A4BQ 100-600 Amp Fuses , for applications needing Class L fuse dimensions with ampere ratings of less than 601. Plant and specifying engineers and consultants can use the flexible A4BQ to comply with stringent OSHA regulations and NEC standards.
Suitable for branch circuit protection, and with Class J fuse performance, the A4BQ 100-600 fuses meet three specific applications: ensuring flexibility on new construction projects and future expansions, providing an acceptable and safe solution for facilities that reduce power consumption by downsizing or consolidating, and meeting arc flash mitigation needs.
Specifying engineers and consultants have the flexibility to specify a single fuse for all new construction applications, and contractors can install and operate Class L service entrance equipment and switchgear on new or unfinished developments requiring less than 600A of load.
The A4BQ fuses were designed dimensionally for one-way interchangeability – meaning a Class L fuse of any lower ampere rating can be substituted for a given Class L fuse. The A4BQ fuses reduce the risk of change orders and save time and money by using a single fuse class, switch or holder for all development plans. This minimizes excess inventory and part numbers.
“In some cases non-listed fuses are being installed into service entrance equipment and switchgear because there aren’t any alternatives,” said Bob Lyons, product manager for Low Voltage Fuses. “UL standard 248-10, Class L Fuses, doesn’t include fuses with ratings of less than 601 amps, and Ferraz Shawmut’s A4BQ 100 to 600 Amp Fuses solve this problem.”
